*  The legislature of New Jersey established a two-point motor vehicle reduction program for New Jersey drivers who satisfactorily complete a registered Defensive Driving Course.

The program administered and regulated by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission requires a minimum of six (6) hours of classroom instruction which is taught by an instructor certified by the New Jersey State Safety Council.

The two-point reduction program is voluntary, errant drivers are not forced to attend a Defensive Driving Course.

Remember -- A student may apply for point reduction only once every three (3) years.  Students may not reduce point total below zero.  Students with no points should not waste their once in three-year opportunity by requesting point reduction.
